Shops We Love: Old Faithful Shop Opens a New Location in Vancouver

Known for its classically styled household essentials, Old Faithful Shop first opened in Vancouver, B.C.’s Gastown neighborhood in 2010. Since then, the inventory has expanded to include heirloom quality furniture and lighting from brands such as Ferm Living and Skagerak, and it recently opened a second location in Kitsilano. The new shop is based at 1985 West 4th Ave., Vancouver.

“I want to be where people live and work, and make us a part of their routines,” says owner Walter Manning.
Based on those he created to outfit the bright new shop, Walter is now developing a line of shelving and tables in his on-site workshop — a new direction that will hew faithfully to the store’s carefully laid roots.
The shop is known for its many Scandinavian and Japanese brands. The portable Setago lamp by &Tradition is a top-seller.
D.S. & Durga scents are another shop staple. All of the scents are crafted in-house in small batches.
