After a trip to Palm Springs, designer and homeowner Leila Macdonald, principal at Schumacher Interior Designs Inc., was inspired to design a home with the mid-century modern aesthetic and lifestyle in mind. “We loved the concept of open-space living and started looking for a property that could accommodate a side split or bungalow,” she says. One of her top priorities was to bring the outside in.
