The homeowners wanted to add value to the house, which was built in 1906, so Kelly Lynn and Laura opened up the main floor to maximize flow and function. The handsome fireplace and built-in storage in the living room got a dramatic facelift with a coat of charcoal gray paint, while textiles and mementos from the family’s travels make the space feel more personal. For a high-contrast look, the designers added black honed marble on the dining room console, which also boasts a bar fridge and wine storage.
