Senior design editor Margot Austin shares how she designed a girl’s bedroom that’s playful yet still sophisticated. See how she created a space that will grow with her client’s daughter as she gets older.

Graphic Christian Lacroix wallpaper creates a focal point behind the bed, which is contrasted with the clean lines in the vanity and desk. Margot added a floor-to-ceiling built-in wardrobe which has extra storage space for clothes. Antique pieces like bedside tables and an upholstered art deco club chair add character to the space, while souvenirs and vintage fashion photography are displayed on the fireplace mantel for a room that’s both kid-friendly and adult-approved.
