This Polished Country Home Is The Perfect Winter Retreat

Designer Kimberley Seldon nails a polished country look in her serene weekend home on the Niagara Escarpment. There is plenty of room for parties, but Kimberley creates quiet, cozy places to reconnect with family and celebrate nature. See how Kimberley mixes modern furniture with treasured antiques to create a space with relaxed sophistication.

The entertaining hub is the light-filled living and dining room. Tom Dixon lights hung from the double-height ceiling hover over the dining table, while two fireplaces flank either side of the space. A spa-like powder room with a large carving from Indonesia offers a welcome reprieve from lively gatherings. When Kimberley isn’t entertaining, a built-in banquet in the eat-in kitchen provides a place for casual family meals. The laid-back TV room — where a large vintage sign is the standout feature — welcomes lazy afternoons indoors. Striking views can be seen throughout the home, but the best are found in the modern, serene master bedroom.
