Paper Trail

Furniture maker Arper has partnered with Swedish startup PaperShell on the Catifa Carta, a carbon-negative office chair. Twenty-nine sheets of eco-friendly paper are treated with a bio-resin, then stacked, pressed and moulded into the iconic seat. The chair can later be returned to Arper to be melted into biochar used to fertilize gardens.

The Houf collection from Montreal’s Cyrc features 3D-printed recycled plastic poufs with textured sides, a flat top and an open base. Use them as seating, a table or a planter. Available in nine colourways and four sizes, the poufs are fully recyclable; when you’re finished with the piece, send it back and the company will grind it up and reuse the material.

Sheer Beauty

Dress your windows with Benu Sky, a double-width sheer fabric with a grainy, matte texture from Swiss textile brand Fischbacher 1819. The 100 per cent recycled, flame-retardant polyester is made from PET plastic bottles that are melted down and spun into yarn. Available in seven shades ranging from pale yellow to green.
