Toronto chef Lynn Crawford has been keeping busy. After working in Four Seasons kitchens around the world, hosting Food Network’s Pitchin’ In and Restaurant Makeover, opening restaurant Ruby Watchco and food shop Ruby Eats, she somehow found time to publish her first cookbook. Pitchin’ In (2012 Viking Canada) chronicles her road trip across North America, the local food heroes she meets along the way, and her delicious dishes from farmers’ simple ingredients. Make her tomato quiche for a weekend brunch, cider-glazed pork chops (pictured above) for dinner, or red velvet cupcakes at bridal shower or party.
