Before & After: A Disjointed Kitchen Becomes A Sunny Yellow Hub

Martin de Sousa, principal designer of Designström helped his clients transform their dated Leslieville home into a bright and colorful haven. The original kitchen had awkwardly placed appliances, which was remedied by changing the layout for more counter space and storage and adding an island. See how Martin breathed new life into the main floor by removing a wall and mudroom to create the open-concept kitchen. For the family who loves color, Martin chose Farrow & Ball’s Dayroom Yellow for the cabinets, contrasted by blue and white Moroccan concrete tiles on the backsplash and island. The quartz countertops have a terrazzo feel, which continues into the bathroom where real Italian terrazzo shines on the walls and floors. Watch the full tour here!
