A brand new mid-town Toronto home is reimagined for a young couple hoping to grow their family. There are many hip touches, courtesy of designer Shaunn Lipsey, who says the couple’s design brief was “warm and upscale, but not fancy.” Walls are coated in microcement for subtle texture with hits of soft sage green to break up the neutral palette. A dramatically dark, arched bar grabs the spotlight in the dining room. The kitchen’s oak cabinets were shaved down to downplay the grain and keep the focus on the heavily veined marble island and backsplash.
