French 227 Cocktail

This take on the classic cocktail is named for 227 Ossington Ave. — the address of Man Ray Bar à Vin and La Banane. Make a batch by multiplying the ingredients by eight, then combining the gin, liqueur and lemon juice in a container. Shake quantities over ice and top with bubbles.

Ingredients


Serves 1

  • 1 oz. gin
  • 1⁄2 oz. St-Germain elderflower liqueur
  • 1⁄2 oz. (1 tbsp) freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • Champagne or sparkling wine
  • Sprig thyme, for garnish

Directions

  1. In cocktail shaker, combine gin, liqueur and lemon juice with ice and shake well. Strain into coupe glass and top with champagne or sparkling wine. Garnish with sprig of thyme.
