“It was important to us that the nursery would work for either gender,” says Ashley Cassidy Seale, the founder of creative studio Ruby Social Co. “This room was originally my at-home office so we repurposed the existing white walls and added a coat of sky blue paint to create a focal point for the crib.”
Homeowner Haley Atkins hangs out with her two-year-old son, Jax, in his treehouse-like nursery. Whether it’s a fun saying (like “Dear World”) or a notice-me pattern, tying a piece of fabric on one side of a crib makes a statement — literally.

Toronto prop and craft stylist Rayna Marlee created a neutral nursery for her son Benson Lief that is anything but boring. “The beach is my happy place, so I wanted to share this with Benson through the way I decorated it,” she says. Blond wood, whites and wovens create a serene sleep sanctuary.
A nursery doesn’t have to be swathed in color to feel youthful. Designer Montana Burnett added plenty of stuffed animals, rattan accessories and electric pink tassels for a hit of color to the homeowners’ daughter Mila’s nursery.
