A Vibrant Toronto Bedroom
In this principal bedroom, a geometric rug and cream and white color scheme help balance the eye-catching velvet headboard in this multigenerational home. Modern sconces echo the shape of the headboard, and stand out against the vibrant fabric.

A Clean, Spare Chalet Bedroom
The principal bedroom in this ski chalet is layered in soft textures, and it’s no coincidence that the window frames are all black. “The windows are like picture frames; for each view, I wanted to take care with what is seen outside,” says the owner and photographer Monic Richard. “When lying in bed, for example, you see a forest of little birch trees. That’s the part I like the most, especially in the winter. It’s very graphic, like seeing a painting in every window.”

A Graphic Black And White Toronto Bedroom
A faux fur throw and textured rug give the principal bedroom of this European-inspired home a refined coziness.

A Soothing Calgary Bedroom
The ceiling fixture in the principal bedroom of designer Nyla Free’s home is oversized but airy, filling the space without overpowering it.

A Bright & Colorful Bedroom In A Dramatic Home
A channelled headboard and feature wall in luxe wool make the large principal bedroom in this Georgian home feel intimate. The cozy upholstered wall treatment breaks up the room’s white walls and delivers impact without being too busy. The pendants were crafted to resemble raw gems.

A Cosy Bedroom With Country Manor Charm
A flowing silk bedskirt and crushed velvet upholstery add a soft, romantic feel to the principal bedroom in this Oakville, Ontario home.

An NHL Goalie’s Calming Bedroom In Manitoba
“Michael liked the idea of a hidden room,” says designer Jaclyn Peters, who added a seamless door to the ensuite in Michael Hutchinson’s suburban home. “When closed, the ensuite door blends seamlessly into the wall, concealing the principal bathroom.”

A Dreamy Ranch House Bedroom in Vancouver
A spark that came from a London trip evolved into a storybook principal bedroom design in Rosie Daykin’s West Coast ranch house, with a pastoral wall mural from Anewall. Rosie took a chance and bought her rug online; the colors are a perfect counterpoint. “I love pattern on pattern on pattern,” she says. “It takes a confident hand but, to my eye, it looks the best.”

A Serene Neutral Cottage Bedroom
Wovens, nubby textures and oatmeal hues combine to create a calm bedroom retreat at the cottage belonging to Muskoka Living’s Cory DeFrancisco.

A Tonal Bungalow Bedroom With Pattern
A mix of textures make this bungalow’s principal bedroom even more relaxed and youthful. See the video tour here.

A Sophisticated Georgian Home’s Bedroom
The second floor of this Toronto home is a sweeping principal bedroom suite with two seating areas in hues of smoke, grey and grey mauve for peaceful respite. A backlit wall panel behind the bed is clad with parchment set within a bronze noir patina frame.

A Boho-Inspired Toronto Bedroom
In Emma Reddington’s former bedroom, she leaves the windows open — sounds from the music concerts on the Lakeshore and the creak of streetcars would drift in on summer nights.

A Cosy Chalet Bedroom In Quebec
The designers behind this stone ski chalet added character and “aged” the principal bedroom by installing a faux brick wall that plays off the canted ceiling.
