This wallpaper inspired the 2023 Princess Margaret Showhome’s pastel palette. Brian Gluckstein updated traditional Tudor panelling by painting it a dreamy mint hue and added textured grasscloth above. “We wanted neutrals and mints contrasted by a cinnamon color,” he says.

“I wanted it to feel breezy and romantic, but not too girly,” says Emily Griffin of this principal bedroom. “For weekend or vacation homes, I try to avoid drywall as much as possible,” says Emily. Pale blue wallpaper takes you out of the city and makes you feel like you’re on holiday in a sunny place.

“Mauve is a grey-toned version of violet: in a way, it’s color without color,” says Toronto designer Katherine Newman of this round pastel island.

Designer Gillian Gillies was selected for this kitchen renovation because of her love of color and texture. Taking inspiration from the owners’ art and Murano glass collection, Gillian proposed a subtle sage green for the upper cabinets. “We used Farrow & Ball’s Cromarty, a perfect sage green,” she says.

Designer Natalie Tredgett opted for a soothing palette in this principal bedroom. “The wallpaper is like a giant watercolor that makes you feel calm and enveloped,” says Natalie.
