Get Recipes From Laura Prepon’s Cookbook, The Stash Plan
Updated on March 27, 2017
A tough-talking Jersey girl with a skeptical streak, Laura Prepon has tried just about every diet on the bestseller list. The 36-year-old actor, best known for her roles in That ’70s Show and Orange is the New Black, spent her twenties struggling with digestive woes.
Four years ago, she found the answer in a food plan that teaches you to cook twice and eat healthily for a whole week. She’s sharing the details in her new book, The Stash Plan, coauthored with nutritionist and integrative health coach Elizabeth Troy. Laura admits it may sound a bit wacky, but she’s never felt better. Just don’t call it a diet!
Here are four recipe from the cookbook to try:
“I’ve never met one person who doesn’t love turkey meatballs. So we thought this would be a fun option. Everyone loves having a little stash of meatballs because you can just pick them up with your fingers. They’re just easy — that’s why I like them.”
“I always want salmon to be wild-caught, and obviously it’s better to have it fresh. For years, I never cooked fish because I hated the way it made the house smell. I can’t stand the smell; it drives me crazy. But cooking it in these parcels, it doesn’t smell at all.”
“A lot of my friends don’t eat gluten-free, but they love this bread. When I buy gluten-free bread, there are often tapioca and ingredients in it that don’t agree with me. This is such a simple recipe, it tastes awesome and it’s easy to make. I toast it with some butter, and mash an avocado on there, with some salt and pepper — so good.”
“Broth is the basis of a lot of my cooking. Everybody has a memory of chicken broth at some point in their lifetime. It reminds you of comfort and being cozy and warm and fuzzy. This soup is an Elizabeth special. I cook my rice and vegetables in it, and steam my protein in it. It’s so easy!’”
