January: A Crisp & Clean-Lined Kitchen
You won’t believe this light-filled kitchen was once covered in dark mahogany. Art curator Pamela Meredith opted for white and light gray for the cabinets, which give her blue and green ceramics by Harlan House the attention the deserve. The industrial-style stools feel edgy without looking heavy.

February: A Serene Century Kitchen
Panels of light wood visually blend this welcoming kitchen‘s vent hood with the open shelving, as well as tie the whole look together with the herringbone floors and bar stools. The porcelain stone countertops were chosen for their durability.

March: A Family-Friendly Kitchen
For this family of seven (including their goldendoodle, Yossi), a kitchen that was both hardworking and good-looking was a must. The generous island is perfect for making children’s lunches and hosting dinner parties, while the vintage runner pops against the white lowers.

April: A Nature-Inspired Kitchen
In this renovated ’60s-era bungalow in Picton, Ontario, this inviting kitchen is the heart of the home. The 11-foot island — swathed in Benjamin Moore’s Narragansett Green (HC-157) — reflects the waterfront views outside. Plus, the tile backsplash looks identical to reclaimed brick for a rustic touch.

May: An Art-Filled Kitchen
A few pieces from homeowners Alan and Alison Schwartz’s impressive art collection — like photographs by South African visual activist Zanele Muholi — hold pride of place in the kitchen. They add interest to the white Corian counters, backsplash and sink.

June: An All-White Galley Kitchen
Who says a white kitchen has to be boring? Custom cabinets with ridge detailing make the space feel fresh. “We used Caesarstone for the counters and backsplashes,” says designer Allison Willson. “Though not a budget component, it’s practical and you’re not paying the cost of marble slabs. And we didn’t need to buy new appliances — that was a big save.”

July/August: An Airy, Panoramic Kitchen
With views this breathtaking, there’s no need to overdecorate in the kitchen. The entertaining-friendly hub boasts a spacious 12-foot-long island, durable Corian surfaces and open shelving.

“I love adding touches of black in every room,” says designer Anne Hepfer of this condo’s ultracol kitchen. Pale oak, white woodwork and brass hardware are the ultimate palette cleansers.

A pared-back palette feels stylish not sterile in this Toronto Edwardian’s kitchen. “It was critical to inject black tones for a multilayered look,” says designer Shauna Walton of the La Cornue range, bar stools’ legs and accessories.

“I love having no upper cabinets and lots of natural light,” says designer Shannon Vosters of her heritage home‘s communal kitchen. The stained concrete–topped island is where the whole family gathers to prep meals and dine.

Designer Alison Milne chose sustainably-sourced Douglas fir flooring and cabinets for her 120-year-old home’s kitchen. “I wanted to create a space where you don’t have to think about efficiency and quality, you just feel it every day,” says Alison.
