Get Shopping With These LGBTQ2S-led Design Brands & Collections
As Pride month comes to a close, we’re reflecting on how many fantastic LGBTQ2S-led brands are in the interior design space.
From Richard Ouellette and Maxime Vandal’s highly-anticipated Humminghill Farm, to 31 Westgates’s curated store, we’ve rounded up some of our favorite brands to shop this weekend (and all year long). Scroll down and get shopping!

Led by partners Colin Blanchard and Kenneth McRobbie, this design shop based in Halifax, N.S. is the shopping arm of 31 Westgate’s interior design firm. The two opened up their first retail shop in 2011 and named it after their first-ever interior design project (31 Westgate). They have since moved to a larger retail space, and their interiors frequently grace the pages of our magazine.

The shop is always bringing in new products, including this umbrella that’s perfect for pools, patios and alfresco dining areas. Available in a variety of colors, this yellow umbrella will instantly brighten up your outdoor space.

Badger & Burke
This Vancouver-based queer-owned store is led by Jamie Armstrong and Holton Brock. The store offers a variety of colorful paper goods like invitations and greeting cards, as well as housewares like tea towels and blankets. What makes them unique is their in-house graphic design, which is inspired by mid-century style, tropical fruit and dogs.
This limited edition cotton woven throw blanket was designed by the pair in Canada and can be used to accent a bed or sofa.

Humminghill Farm
Run by Richard Ouellette and Maxime Vandal (the founders of architecture and design group Les Ensembliers), Humminghill Farm is a Quebec-based shop that offers a variety of artisanal products.
Their exterior wall sconces, which come in Taupe, Tomato, Sage and Pumpkin, are designed by Luminaire Authentik and handmade in Cowansville, Q.C.

Another new product from Humminghill Farm is this luxe cutting board that’s made in the Eastern Townships by artisan John Murphy. The board has unique properties to help keep your knives sharper for longer.

Jonathan Adler
The LGBTQ+ decorator, author and potter, along with his eponymous brand are mainstays in the world of design. Jonathan launched his first ceramic collection in 1993, which quickly expanded into home furnishings. His products are available at more than 17 stores across the U.S. and several authorized dealers in Canada, including The Modern Shop and Black Rooster Decor.

MINNA
Founded by Sara Berks in New York, this Certified B-corp partners with skilled artisans to produce ethically-sourced and sustainable products.
One of their latest collections is the Pathway rug collection, which was released earlier this year.

Their Element rug collection was also launched earlier this year in partnership with a weaving group in Mexico. The rugs, which were all designed by Sara using inspiration from her paintings, are made of handwoven, naturally dyed wool.

Nate Berkus
The American interior designer has worked with tons of big names (including the likes of Oprah) and has gone on to have a variety of home accessory and furniture collections. One of his most iconic collections is the one he and his partner Jeremiah did for Livingspaces.

Ryan Livingstone
Urban Barn partnered with New Brunswick-based artist Ryan Livingstone for a line of prints for the home. The collection is based on reimagining plants and animals, and Ryan’s East Coast heritage.

This brand is based in LA and up-cycles textile waste from within the fashion industry. Their colorful and patterned products comprise of pillows, napkins, quilts, duvets, curtains and more.

TRNK
Bring some intersectionality into your home with products from TRNK owned by Brooklyn designer Tariq Dixon. Tariq, who is both LGBTQ2S and a member of the AAPI community, recently released a line of decorative statement tables, including the one pictured above.
