Discover The Most Coveted Bathroom Styles & How To Get The Look
Updated on November 4, 2021

Is there ever a moment when we’re not daydreaming about overhauling our bathroom? Between scrolling on Pinterest and flipping through the pages of House & Home, it can be overwhelming to pick a look that speaks to you. Well, we did the hard work for you and rounded up four looks we’re loving right now, plus the exact recipe you need to achieve it. Let us know in the comments below, what’s your bathroom style?

Blond Bathroom
Pale wood + white counters + chrome hardware
You won’t believe this elegant principal bathroom is in a condo! New cerused oak millwork and crisp counters provide the ideal backdrop for beloved paintings and products.

Subtle details — like tile made from unpolished Arabescato marble, brass and molten glass — pop against the quiet backdrop of light wood cabinets.

“I love the white veining and the antiqued finish,” says homeowner Jenneh Kearns of the bathroom‘s dramatic, black marble backsplash. “It creates a subtle visual dimension.”

Character Bathroom
Patterned rug + freestanding tub + brass hardware
Designer Sam Sacks is the queen of bohemian style, and her cottage‘s charming bathroom is no exception. A tassel-trimmed shower curtain, yellow stool and intricate rug fill the space with quirk and personality.

In entrepreneur Jackie Kai Ellis’ Parisian bathroom, walls painted in Farrow & Ball’s Studio Green reflect Europe’s heritage charm. Plus, the gilded shower faucet and curtain rod pop against the moody hue.

Bringing unexpected items into the bathroom, such as richly colored rugs, framed art and statement lighting, creates a decorated, retro vibe. Royal blue cabinetry gives the space a storied touch.

Black & White Bathroom
Sleek counters + black accents + plenty of light
Bring the drama with moody black hues and brass accents. Add a matching coal rug and towels to set a truly monochromatic tone.

A light wood vanity and striking black-framed windows keep this wet room-style space from getting too sterile. “To maximize the view of the trees, we kept the vanity and tub out in the open,” says designer Tara Finlay.

Like a swipe of jet black eyeliner, metal edging gives a neutral bathroom plenty of architectural interest and drama.

The key to mastering a monochrome look is mixing patterns and shades. A mosaic accent wall and marble tile floors don’t compete with each other (tip: combine patterns with different scales for a seamless look).

Boho Spa Bathroom
Curvy tub + pared-back palette + patterned tile + fresh white walls
An angled wall swathed in hand-painted terracotta tile lends an international flavor to this relaxed, spa-like space. Brass hardware and wood accents inject the sanctuary with laid-back warmth.

Reminiscent of a cozy patchwork blanket, this mismatched floor tile reflects the Craftsman-style box panelling on the walls. It’s a unique take on the timeless blue and white palette.

No plane ticket? No problem. Colorful floor tiles — inspired by the sea and sand of St. Tropez — bring this old world bathroom to life. The vintage dresser-turned-vanity’s curves play off of the tub’s soft lines.
