Bacon-wrapped Jalapeño Poppers

Ingredients
Serves 24
Barbecue Sauce (batch)
- 1 cup ketchup
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp yellow mustard
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Jalapeño Poppers
- 12 fresh jalapeño peppers
- 8 oz. cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp chipotle powder
- 1/4 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp lime juice
- 12 slices thin-cut bacon, each slice cut in half
- Barbecue Sauce (see above)
Directions
Make Jalapeño Poppers
- Preheat grill to 400°F. Slice jalapeños in half lengthwise, and remove seeds and membranes.
- In large, bowl, mix together cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin and chipotle powder, until well combined.
- Spoon cheese mixture into jalapeño halves, filling evenly.
- Wrap each stuffed jalapeño with half slice of bacon and secure with toothpick.
- Place bacon-wrapped jalapeño poppers on grill.
- Cook on preheated grill for 20 to 25 minutes, until bacon is crispy and jalapeños are tender.
- Remove from grill and let cool slightly. Brush thin layer of Barbecue Sauce over each popper and serve.
